Tommy Mesa Releases New Album, 17(67)

Cellist Tommy Mesa releases his second solo album on February 13, 2026, titled ‘17(67),' pairing together the year the artist’s Nicolò Gagliano cello was made with a popular modern slang term. The album’s title reflects the bridge created between the traditional and the innovative through this wide-ranging program, played alongside pianist Yoon Lee. With recordings from the Romantic canon, an early 20th century Brazilian composition, to contemporary voices and even some of Mesa’s own arrangements, Mesa’s repertoire spans eras and styles.
